The Red Pill, the Blue Pill – or the Yellow One?
Have you seen the movie The Matrix? You can see the part about the pills here. In essence, the blue pill keeps you safely cushioned in a dream, in what we know as our reality, and the red pill makes you wake up and see a darker version of reality. The character in the movie is given a choice and he chooses the red pill.
I want to suggest another possibility; what if there were a yellow pill that gained us access to a magical world more beautiful than we can imagine most of the time? Maybe you have already taken the yellow pill!
Have you ever had a feeling to go (or not to go) to a certain place and later learned the feeling was right? Have you ever heard a voice in your head that was so compelling, so clear that you heeded it? Have you ever known something and not known how you knew, but you knew it with full confidence? Have you ever seen something you knew was not “there”, and yet see it you did?
Clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentenience, clairsentenience. They are called the four “clairs”, four ways to access your intuition. We all have these four gifts though until we pay attention to them and develop them, we can be completely unaware they exist for us:
- Clairvoyance is the ability to see with your third eye.
- Clairaudience is the gift of hearing.
- Clairsentenience is the ability to sense something.
- Claircognizance is the ability to know something without knowing how you could possibly know.
These clairs are keys which open the door to a magical, bright, beautiful (yellow-pill) world, one in which we’re connected to much more than we can discern with our five senses.
Examples from my life? Sure, but just remember this is my understanding and experience of the clairs which will differ slightly from the explanations at the links.
Claircognizance I was looking at some photos my brother-in-law had taken on his trip to Europe. At one photo where something caused me to ask, “What is that?” and then, before he could answer say, “It’s a forge.” He looked at me quizzically and said, yes, it was. There were no defining characteristics of a forge, no tools in the picture. I have never seen a forge before so how did I know it was a forge?
Clairaudience This is my strongest Clair. I have it to thank for meeting my husband. As my friend and I were moving through the dance club headed for the exit that night I came to a junction at which I heard (in my head) very clearly, “Go this way.” For some reason, I didn’t hesitate. I changed direction. When I came around that corner I saw my husband for the first time.
Clairsentenience My clairsentient ability is the least developed, though I do have a fairly clear sense of people when I meet them or even just see a photograph.
Clairvoyance Through this Clair I have had the experience of “seeing” my client’s loved ones during a Reiki treatment. Usually, they are standing at their right shoulder. One time I decided against telling a fellow I had seen his parents in the room, but it didn’t matter. When the treatment ended he looked at me and said, “My parents were here!”
Through Reiki, I connect to this magical, yellow-pill world. It’s one of the reasons I love doing healing work. It reminds me that there’s much more to reality than what we typically perceive.
Have you had experiences with any of your clairs? Do you have a primary one which you connect with regularly? Sit down, pour yourself a cup of tea and tell us; would you take the yellow pill?
