A Dozen Years!

A Dozen Years!

I can’t believe that it’s the 12th Anniversary of the launch of Life, forinstance. See the very first post of November 1, 2010, here! Today I am feeling nostalgic for those days of blog-hopping (which I called “porch-hopping”); connecting with all the wonderful people I met in the Blogosphere.

So much has changed in twelve years but one thing set in motion, back in November of 2010, is still evolving today: Community building.

The community building efforts that began on the life, forinstance porch have cumulated today into a Community Leadership Certification Program, training for a next-generation model of leadership that is needed in the world of organizational management. This is exciting!

When I started a blog, I wanted to create a gathering place where we could meet to talk about – what else – Life! And talk about life we did! The conversations often went deep into the area of paradox – truth – where there was no one answer we could agree upon, yet people returned to the porch again and again and our discussions continued. Those were wonderful times.

And to my blogging friends, wherever you are, I hope you are happy, still writing, and ever-grappling with the issues of life in stimulating discussions with friends and family. I still believe that the unexamined life is not worth living, and without a community to reflect your thoughts to you, to hear and be witness to your musings, life really is not as easy as it can be.
