Are You Prepared for the “New Normal”?
Each week since social distancing became our way of life, the themes of news programs, social media articles, and personal conversations have tracked our emotional progression through these surreal times.
In week ten, we talked about the “new normal”; what it will look like, how we will adapt to it.
We are talking about enormous changes, I know, but on a personal level, dealing with change is nothing new: From the time we are born to the moment we draw our last breath, we are always dealing with change. What is “normal” changes: It becomes a new normal – over and over again as we move through the stages of life.
Sometimes life surprises us, but mostly we surprise ourselves with our resiliency, our creativity, our determination to survive and thrive. We thrive because of our determination. We need to remember this as we face this “new” normal.
And whether or not we feel we’re up to the challenge, we are.
We are always in transition, moving from one phase of life to another. This is what makes life a fascinating journey.
It is going to be alright.
