Fourteenth Blogaversary

Fourteenth Blogaversary

Fourteen years! I know; I become nostalgic at anniversaries and this, my fourteenth Blogaversary will be no different. When you stand on the precipice of a significant anniversary, it feels like you time-travel. You look back along the line of time and find yourself at the beginning of what is now at an end. I remember that evening so clearly, sitting at my computer with my social media coach/friend and my two children on Skype trying to come up with a name for this blog. And how happy I was that they were a part of it all!

I haven’t been active here on the LFI porch in a long time apart from the occasional Blogaversary post. It seems it’s time to let this blog go.

Some time ago, a dear friend suggested I ask myself this question;

Where does my greatest passion meet the world’s greatest need?

I think, now, I have the answer.

I won’t take down this blog because there are too many articles about community here. In fact, this blog helped me see how important community is to me. It was the people gathering here for those amazing conversations who eventually inspired our first video gatherings, which in turn led to the writing of Sounding the Drum.

I hope you still enjoy your morning coffee on your porch and connect with your neighbours building community around you! We NEED community in our lives!

So this time-traveler reaching back for the hands of her son and her daughter, now a mom of two, preparing to push “Publish” here for the last time wishes you all the best.

No, I can do even better than that. I said it best when I borrowed the words of the great Rod McKuen here.
