What do You Think About Just Prior to Sleep?

My sister and I shared a one-bedroom apartment for a year when we were both single. We would lie in our beds at the end of the day and talk. After a while she would always say, “Ok, we need to be quiet now. I need to clear my mind for sleep.” She was wise to do that; leave the day behind completely to begin with a clean slate the next day.
The time when you are lying in bed just prior to sleep is precious. It’s a private, special time when you can think any thought at all. It’s also the perfect time to make an impression on your subconscious mind because your conscious mind is tired and busy settling down for the night. I see it as a time to dream while still awake.
Just before I fall asleep at night, I slip into a virtual reality scene that encompasses all the things I want to be living. My scene contains the sights, sounds, smells, and especially the feelings. I let this scene run like a film in my head; a movie production in which I’m the star. And if it strays into my “real” dreams, so much the better.
