Do You Know Your Worth?

Do You Know Your Worth?

My favorite Christmas Special is the holiday classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life”. I look forward to watching it every year. We can’t watch movies such as this without relating to them in some way.  I love what George Bailey learns when he has the opportunity to see the impact his life has had on the lives of others around him. The angel Clarence says,

Each man’s life touches so many lives.

When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole.

Do you ever wonder what the world would be without you in it?  How would the lives of your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers be different if you had never been born? Like George we attribute importance to worldly things like financial success and fame, neglecting to recognize how important we are to those closest to us. Consider various scenes from your life and then in your imagination remove yourself from the picture. Without your presence, there would be an awful hole.

George Bailey is always trying to get away from the town and make something of his life yet because of his moral character and his love for the people in the town he never succeeds in getting away. In his mind he is struggling and failing; he has no idea how important he is to the people in his life. Let’s not make that mistake. I for one am very glad you’re here.

Do you realize how important you are?
